The Miseducation of Cameron Post is a 2018 American-British drama film directed by Desiree Akhavan, from a screenplay by Akhavan and Cecila Frugiuele, based upon the 2012 novel of the same name by Emily M. Danforth. It stars Chloë Grace Moretz, John Gallagher, Jr., Sasha Lane, Forrest Goodluck, Marin Ireland, Owen Campbell, Kerry Butler, Quinn Shephard, Emily Skeggs, Melanie Ehrlich and Jennifer Ehle.
The film had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on January 22, 2018. It is scheduled to be released in the United States on August 3, 2018 by FilmRise and United Kingdom on September 7, 2018, by Vertigo Releasing.
Plot
In 1993, Cameron Post (Chloë Grace Moretz) is caught in the backseat of a car making out with the prom queen and is outed as a lesbian. This causes her aunt Ruth (Kerry Butler) to send her to a remote treatment center called God's Promise where she is subjected to gay conversion therapies. Cameron bonds with her fellow camp attendees and plays along with the therapies until she is released.

Production
In November 2016, it was announced Chloë Grace Moretz, Sasha Lane, John Gallagher, Jr., Forrest Goodluck, Jennifer Ehle had all been cast in the film, with Desiree Akhavan directing the film, from a screenplay co-written with Cecilia Frugiuele.
Michael B. Clark, Alex Turtletaub, Jonathan Montepare and Frugiuele, will serve as producers, Akhavan and Olivier Kaempfer are executive producers, under their Beachside and Parkville Pictures banners.
